Who we are
ScorDial is developed and published by Diggy Kids World LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the ScorDial apps and the scordial.com website do — and, mostly, do not — process. If you have any question about it, write to us at support@scordial.com.
What we collect
Nothing. ScorDial does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. Specifically, the apps contain:
- No user accounts, sign-ins, or registration.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or Advertising ID).
- No third-party tracking of any kind.
Everything you create or import in ScorDial — PDFs, chord charts, setlists, annotations, audio recordings, preferences — is stored locally on your device only.
Your library stays on your device
Your library and settings live in the app's private storage. Deleting the app deletes this data. On Android, ScorDial deliberately opts out of Google's automatic device backup, so your app data is not uploaded to your Google account; if you want to move your library to a new device, use the app's own export and sharing features.
Device permissions
ScorDial only asks for permissions that power a feature you invoke, and processes the results on your device:
- Microphone — for audio recording, the tuner, and voice dictation. Audio is processed as described below and is never uploaded by ScorDial.
- Camera — to import a chart by photographing it. Photos are processed on the device.
- Photos / files / storage — to import and export scores, images, audio, and setlists you choose.
- Media library (iOS) — to let you link an Apple Music track as a backing track. Playback is handled by Apple's music player.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature simply stops working until re-granted.
Voice dictation
On Android
Voice dictation is opt-in and requires a one-time download of a speech-recognition model (approximately 98 MB) from a public model repository (Hugging Face). The app asks you before downloading. After the download, speech recognition runs entirely offline on your device — your voice and audio are never transmitted anywhere. The download itself is an ordinary file request and involves no personal data beyond the standard technical information any internet download entails (such as your IP address, handled by the hosting provider).
On iPad (iOS)
Voice dictation uses Apple's built-in Speech Recognition. ScorDial does not download or ship any speech model of its own. Depending on your device and chosen language, Apple's recognizer may run fully on-device, or Apple may briefly process the audio on Apple's servers; that processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. ScorDial itself never transmits your audio anywhere.
Network use
ScorDial is an offline-first app. On iPad, the app makes no network requests of its own at all. On Android, the only network request the app makes is the one-time, opt-in voice-model download described above. System features you invoke — such as streaming an Apple Music track you linked, or opening a link in your browser or app store — are performed by your operating system under its own policies, not by ScorDial.
Purchases
If you purchase the app or any in-app content, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details.
The scordial.com website
This website is a static site and sets no cookies of its own, and we run no analytics on it. Tutorial videos on this site are embedded from YouTube; when you play one, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and process data under Google's Privacy Policy. The site is served by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site.
Children's privacy
ScorDial is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side — your data is in your hands, on your device. If you believe we hold any personal information about you (for example, from an email you sent to our support address), you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how ScorDial handles data — for example, by adding an online feature — we will update this policy and change the effective date above before the change ships. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
