iOS & Android guide

The same core app on both platforms, with a few platform-specific notes.

iPad & iPhone

  • Runs on iPad and iPhone; the layout adapts (iPad shows side-by-side library/score views and a wider annotation toolbar).
  • Draw with Apple Pencil, a stylus or a finger; text input supports the on-screen or hardware keyboard.
  • Import via AirDrop, the Files app, Mail/Messages attachments, or the system Share Sheet (“Copy to ScorDial”).
  • Scan paper music with the built-in document scanner (camera permission is requested only when you use it).
  • All content lives on-device in the app's Documents folder; no account is required.

Android — tablets & phones

  • The Android app offers the same core feature set: chord charts with transposition and per-setlist keys, PDF annotation, mini staves, setlists and PDF export.
  • It reads and writes the same .scordial and .scoreset files — sharing with iOS in either direction preserves charts, keys, ink, PDFs and mini staves.
  • Import via the system share sheet or file manager; export to any share target.
